This is the last quarter and the students will be learning about the following: -Math: Solve word problems within 20, add 3 numbers, compare 2-digit numbers, determine unknowns in equations, add and subtract within 20, but 10 fluently, add within 100order and compare lengths, and composes 2D and 3D shapes -Reading: Describes the connection between individuals and texts, distinguish information between pictures and word, and identifies similarities and differences between text of the same -Writing: Narrative (personal story with a beginning, middle, and end using transition words), Informational (provides an opening, 3 facts, and a closing), and Opinion (provides an opening, 3 reasons, and a closing) -Social Studies: George Washington Carver, Producers/Consumers, Goods/Services, and Scarcity -Science: Plants and Animals -Practice the Sight Words every night with your child. Your child should be able to read 200 sight words by the end of 4th quarter in May. -Have your child READ every night for 20-30 minutes. -Homework Journals are due every Friday with 4 choices colored in and dated. -Check yellow folders every Friday for graded work.
